⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Such a beautiful place. We couldn’t stop talking about how nice everything was. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook our own meals while we were there, lots to do around the property, and indoor activities available if the weather wasn’t so nice. Loved that each couple had our own room and king sized bed. Very private, we didn’t need to worry about our dog outside because everywhere he walked was on the property. There were even high chairs available for our toddler, which was very convenient. Everything was clean, and Maureen was very easy to get a hold of. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - If you're even thinking about booking this place, definitely just do it. Clean, tidy, peaceful, relaxing, and just a stunning setting. The river is amazing and the trails are the icing on the cake. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms clean with decent water pressure, the kitchen is huge with all the essentials. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - The sounds of the river as we sat on the deck were amazing! Our sons (ages 11-15) had a great time looking for crayfish in the river and exploring the trails. We even saw a bald eagle flying over the river! This is an amazing home and property. It was a perfect location for our day trips to Kitch-iti-kipi, Manistique to rent ORVs, and the beaches of the Au Train/Munising area. We would love to return some day! - Jennifer (June, 2025)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This is a beautiful property, in a great location. Remote enough, on a very peaceful river, while accessible to the towns/sights of the UP Lake Superior coast. Seemed recently renovated and VERY clean, well maintained. Everything was easy and relaxing. We will return! - Damien (December, 2024)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This place was just about perfect for our xmas vacation with two families. Plenty of space for cooking, socializing, wondering, and relaxing. The bedrooms follow suit and are as spacious as the rest of the house. There are trails to go on hikes with the dogs at any time of day. The hosts is where the 5th star comes in, not only were they responsive in communication, they were quick to fix a couple minor issues we had in regards to pilot light on fireplace going out, and a breaker we popped. Both in which may have been self induced. We cannot wait to come back and see the renovations for a rec room and sauna! As a private note, I just want to personally thank you again for being such great hosts or the Christmas holiday. Unfortunately living down in the Milwaukee area, I don't run into too many ppl with the demeanor such as David's. Very pleasant human being. It was refreshing and I cant say enough about how great the stay was. Both families thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you! - Sean (12/30/24)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Absolutely incredible stay! This rental exceeded all expectations. The location along the river is stunning – waking up to those serene views was a dream. The area is filled with beautiful trails, perfect for exploring, and we even found some fossils, which was such a unique experience! The amenities were top-notch; the hosts thought of everything we could possibly need, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Clean and cozy!! We were lucky to host our very small wedding here with a few friends and family. The property is so pristine - absolutely beautiful with so much to explore just around the property. The lodge itself is very well stocked - kitchen is functional with quality cared for items. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Tranquil beautiful setting, on an amazing property. In town for an annual bird hunting weekend in the UP and had a very awesome stay. The home was accurate to the listing and the beds were all very comfortable. The river was a huge bonus as well! Would definitely stay here again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A great place! Rustic charm meets modern amenities. The attention to detail shows how much care and consideration has been put into creating a place that you want to come back too! LOVE the vintage touches throughout the home. We had a great stay, the perfect place to get away from it all and just enjoy time together as a family. The huge yard provides a ton of space for any activity and the Lodge itself is spacious as well! The river was our absolute favorite, fishing during the day, catching frogs and crayfish at night and enjoying coffee with the morning visitors of birds including a blue heron! This was the perfect place and we all wanted to stay longer! It was amazing to stay and I wanted to actually ask about the possibility of renting it for an event next year as well. - Samantha S. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Thank you for such a wonderful stay! This place is pure U.P. charm! An unexpected mix of rich history and modern amenities! Love the '70s era bathroom fixtures and all the historic pieces inside and out! Our 10-year-old enjoyed catching crayfish, frogs, and tadpoles, especially at night. Travel was easy from this central location. We went to Black Rocks, Munising, and Laughing Whitefish Falls. A beautiful fire pit and night sky! Listening to the sounds of the river! A heron said hello and maybe goodbye this morning. I personally enjoyed reading Floyd Kallio's memoir, although I did not finish it. It brought back memories of my grandfather, a proud Finnish Yooper! The Salos and Jacksons of Ironwood to be exact. A farm kid, too!
